What we collect
Nothing. ScanSathi has no account system and no analytics. Documents you scan, text extracted by OCR, Aadhaar masking, voice notes and search all run entirely on your device. We cannot see, receive or process your documents, and neither can anyone else through us.
Third-party services
Google AdMob (free version only). The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID) and ad interaction data, as described in Google's privacy policy. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. ScanSathi Pro removes ads entirely, after which the app makes no network connections at all.
Google Play Billing. Purchases of ScanSathi Pro are processed by Google Play. We never see your payment details.
No other third-party SDK, tracker or analytics service is present in the app.
Permissions we request and why
- Camera - to scan documents and QR codes. Images are processed on device only.
- Microphone - only when you record a voice note for a document. Audio is stored on your device only.
- Photos / media (save to gallery) - only when you choose to save a resized image to your gallery. Nothing is read from your gallery without you picking it.
- Notifications - to show local, on-device notifications (for example, a thumbnail after a scan is saved). There are no push notifications.
- Internet - used exclusively by AdMob in the free version.
Data storage and deletion
All scans, PDFs, extracted text and voice notes are stored in the app's private storage on your device. Deleting a document in the app, clearing the app's data, or uninstalling the app permanently deletes this data. Because there is no cloud copy, we recommend exporting important PDFs regularly using the built-in ZIP backup.
Children
ScanSathi is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new effective date. Since the app collects nothing, changes are expected to be rare.
