The camera does not open when I tap Scan

First, check Android Settings → Apps → ScanSathi → Permissions and make sure Camera is allowed. If it is allowed and the camera still fails, a security or antivirus app with a "camera protection" feature may be blocking it - open that app's privacy settings and allow ScanSathi. The phone's own camera app working normally while ScanSathi is blocked is the classic sign of this.

Where are my scans stored? Can I get them out?

Scans live in ScanSathi's private storage on your phone - nowhere else. Use Share on any document to send it anywhere, or Settings → Backup to export the entire library (documents, voice notes, metadata) as one ZIP file. Keep that ZIP wherever you trust: SD card, computer, personal drive.

I uninstalled the app and my documents are gone

Because ScanSathi stores everything on-device with no cloud copy, uninstalling or clearing app data permanently deletes your library. We are honest about this trade-off: it is the price of true privacy. Please export a ZIP backup from Settings regularly - restoring it brings everything back, even on a new phone.

Aadhaar masking did not detect the number

Detection works best on a flat, well-lit scan. Re-scan with more light and make sure all 12 digits are visible in the frame. If detection still misses it, tap Add area and draw over the number yourself - the manual mask is just as permanent as the automatic one.

Hindi OCR returns strange or empty text

Make sure the Hindi / Marathi option is selected on the Extract Text screen (English is the default). Small, decorative or handwritten fonts are hard for any OCR - a sharper, brighter scan improves results a lot.

I bought Pro but ads still show

Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore purchase. If ads still show after that, make sure you are signed into the same Google account that made the purchase, then email us your order number from Google Play and we will sort it out.

The Save button in Form Assistant - where does the file go?

The resized image is saved to your phone's Gallery in a "ScanSathi" album, and a copy is kept inside the app. If gallery saving is blocked, check that ScanSathi has the Photos and media permission in Android settings.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Email [email protected] with your phone model, Android version and what happened. Screenshots help. Feature ideas are genuinely welcome - several features in the app came from user emails.
